April marks the start of a new calendar page and the kick off of even more events to enjoy in Sarasota and around the region. Here are a few options for you to get out and about...
Sarasota Polo Club - The polo matches are open to the public every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. through April 25th and every Thursday at 5:30 p.m. through April 22nd. The match is fun to watch, of course, but the pageantry of the opening parade and national anthem, the divot stomping, and the alfresco food and drink make the experience complete. This season is the 30th for the Sarasota Polo Club and a draw for thousands of spectators who enjoy the match and tailgating.
Bay Music Live - An outdoor concert at the Van Wezel kicks off at 6:30 p.m. this Saturday, April 3rd. Reservations are required to preserve social distancing; food and beverage available onsite. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the open-air music as well as explore the newly developed Mangrove Bayou Walkway.
Acoustic Sunsets - The Ringling's Bayfront Gardens will feature live acoustic music on Mondays from April 5th to May 17th starting at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are required; $20 each. These outdoor concerts are an excellent way to take in the beauty of the Ringling and our coastal sunsets. Food and beverage are available onsite.
St. Armands Circle Art Festival - A two-day event that resumes its annual occurrence after last year's cancellation. The 18th Annual St. Armands Circle Art Festival spans April 10th and 11th, with gallery-style booths featuring the work of national and local artists. Admission is free, but guests are invited to register in advance.
World Circus Day - We can't pass this up! The Circus Museum at the Ringling celebrates World Circus Day on April 17th with free youth admission (accompanied by a paying adult). This is a fun family occasion to learn about the history of the circus, watch some live performances, and indulge in some circus-themed tasty treats. 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
